PAVe is one of the few organisations that are working with abused spouses here in Singapore. Last year, it handled over 800 cases of victims of relationship violence of which overwhelming majority are women. These intervention efforts, outreach programmes, or public education campaigns needs money. If we cannot help by volunteering, perhaps we can help out with cash.

Love Hurts, Love Heals.

The Story Behind the ChariTee-Shirt Design

Abused spouses are difficult to spot because they will try to disguise their plight in order to "fit" in" with the society. In the design, at first glance, the woman appears normal, happily making up. Yet, her reflection conceals the truth that society cannot see...that of a battered woman. Visually, the overall image also hides another sinister symbol - that of a skull. The skull represent her eventually physical death if the abuses do not stop or if no one helps her. Often, the abused spouse stays on because of her love.

Love Hurts.

Yet within this somewhat depressing scene there is a potential for happiness. The lady is holding a scarlet heart. The heart is the symbol of hope that will also save her. If her abusive spouse see the emotional and physical damage that he is handing out, would his love for her change his behaviour? Maybe. The choice is with him because ...

Love Heals.

Our ChariTee-shirt costs $12 each for individuals. This amount may not seem to be a lot but they will go someways towards helping the Centre for Promoting Alternatives to Violence or PAVe come up with critical programmes to educate, intervene and support victims of relationship violence.

For Corporate buyers, we will be very willing to put your company/organisation's logos on the Chari-Tees if a mass order is submitted. To offset the additional costs of inserting the logos, the cost of the Corporate Charitees will be $25 each. All proceeds will go to PAVe.
